What is single sign-on (sso)?
Single sign-on lets people access a 3D printing platform using their existing organisational identity, so accounts are provisioned, permissioned, and revoked centrally rather than managed separately in the print system.

Why it matters more in print operations than it looks
A university lab may serve thousands of users across a year, with near-complete turnover each term. Managing that as a separate user list is not a security preference; it is the difference between a workable deployment and an unworkable one.
SSO also makes the audit trail more useful. An entry names an account from the organisation’s directory instead of a local account that may have been shared, reused, or left active after someone departed.
