Staff approve it
The lab's rules say every job needs a staff sign-off. A staff member opens the review screen, sees the checklist, confirms the material, and approves it. The job joins the queue.

A printer picks it up
Studio P1S 03 has just been cleared and has grey PETG loaded. It's the next printer that fits, so the job goes there. Nobody chose the printer; nobody had to.

The student follows along
From their laptop, the student sees the print at 81% on their own jobs page. When it finishes they get an email. If it had failed, they'd get that email too, and a reprint would be one click.

Pickup, and a record
With pickup on, the finished part gets a bin and a label, and is scanned out when collected. The job keeps its whole history, and it shows up in the lab's reporting.
